Burudika Manyara Lodge

Karibu, Welcome

All free standing Bandas (Swahili for bungalow) evoke the feeling of Tanzania. Currently we have 4 double, 1 twin and 1 family. Built from walls decorated with volcanic stone and topped with coconut thatched roofs, all Bandas reveal a genuine Tanzanian atmosphere.
The use of canvas windows with secure mosquito netting, not only allows for constant air-flow, but also intensifies the safari experience. Each Banda consists of a spacious bedroom with Tanzanian styled wooden beds interwoven with sisal ropes; mosquito nets and working desk. The en-suite bathrooms entail a hand basin, separated shower and separated toilet. Towels, slippers, toiletries and morning cloth are provided. From the reclining chairs on your private sheltered veranda you're overlooking Lake Manyara and the majestic Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Reception

A warm Welcome awaits you. After being offered a refreshing drink at our reception, you will be taken to your Banda. All reception, concierge and travel services are available on a 24-hour basis. Our expedient staff will be able to recommend tours and travel services.

Restaurant

The Baobab restaurant and bar is nested under a majestic Baobab tree what adds enchantment to the African safari experience. Buffet or à-la-carte meals are served under the thatched roof and showcase international and authentic pan-African dishes prepared from fresh local ingredients. Dining here is a relaxed affair where guests get a chance to discuss the days game viewing and make new friends.

Surroundings

The lodge has a peaceful atmosphere and yet, situated on the Eastern bank of Lake Manyara, it's just an adventurous 5km to the hustle and bustle of Mto wa mbu. This property abounds with bird life and the overlooking plain includes resident game such as Wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, and with some luck many more. Apart from watching wildlife, you will see the Maasai way of live passing by.

Double banda

The beautiful proportioned Simba (Lion), Twiga (Giraffe), Nyati (Buffalo) and Faru (Rhinoceros) bandas are furnished with a Tanzanian styled queen-size bed. The private viewing veranda is facing the Baobab restaurant and offers the opportunity to enjoy relaxing sundowners while watching the sunset over Lake Manyara National park.

Twin banda

The Chui(Leopard) banda can accommodate two people, in twin beds dressed in white cotton linen and African design throws. As in every other Banda the en-suite bathroom is equipped with a basin, shower and toilet. Both of you will enjoy the surrounding scenery and birdlife from the veranda.

Family banda

The Tembo (Elephant) banda has three spacious bedrooms (two double and one twin) that accommodate a family of six or a group of three couples. All rooms connect to the centred living area. Romantic dining is epitomised by dinner set on the veranda while enjoying a breath-taking sunset and finish under a star-studded African night sky.
